I wanted to write an update about our progress with the potty issue. Does anyone else hate the phrase potty training? I really do. I usually say potty learning because training makes me think of animals. And it certainly has been a learning process for us instead of ‘training’. Continue reading
I discovered a wonderful new app for keeping track of what books you own. I am in the process of collecting many Magic School Bus book titles, and I was looking for a way to keep track of what I already have that is a little more user-friendly on the go than a Pinterest board. Continue reading
This year’s birthday party was a lot of fun for everyone. It was the first we’ve had with lots of little friends for Aria to play with. I went a little lighter this year by not doing food at all except ice cream and cup cakes. I wanted to do a little less because it has been so insane here with emergency surgery, new family members, and unexpected long-term guests. I asked on behalf of my daughter for more creativity based presents because she has been very into doing stuff as opposed to just playing lately.
I’m finally back! Its been a crazy time for us here.On top of the birthday party preparation we also had to do a lot of traveling because my husbands brother’s wife was pregnant and finally had their little girl. They live over an hour away so we made several day treks to see the family. And we had an unexpected house guest recently who just left. A friend of ours needed a place to sleep for a few weeks between living situations. Hopefully things will be settling down and getting back to normal soon. Continue reading
What was the very first book you read? (if you can remember)
I honestly cannot remember the first book I ever read. I know my mom taught me to read before school started, so unless she remembers there is no way I will ever remember that.
The birthday party is finally this weekend. I’ve been working hard for weeks and accomplished my entire project list. Everything is painted, varnished, cleaned, and the birthday video is finished. Continue reading
…Spend the day with your favorite author or favorite character?
I would by far rather spend my day with my favorite author. Patrick Rothfuss would be an amazing person to spend a day with. Plus he is local to my state and I would just love the chance to talk with him period.
My daughter has been really into educational apps lately. I used my old cell phone to create a learning center for her. I deleted all my old apps off of the phone first, and asked around for some good apps for kids. I wanted to give a run down of each app she enjoys and what she likes best about it or what she is learning.
This week will mark 8 years of marriage for us. It seems both like a really long time and no time at all. We were 21 and 22 and it took us a long time to get where we are today. The first few years are rocky for sure. Even living together beforehand doesn’t compare to being official (which we did). It’s a whole different world once it is binding.
This month is my big project month.
I do lots of home improvement before my daughter’s birthday party every year. If my posts are a bit light this month it is probably because all my spare time is spent cleaning and organizing till birthday party day. Continue reading
